Saltus Senior Three student, Husayn Ali Brown, said the many elements of sailing require someone to be physically and mentally capable.

Husayn has been sailing Bermuda's waters since his eighth birthday and has captured titles from Coruna, Spain to Martinique.

His most recent accomplishment was qualifying for the World Optimist Dinghy Championship in China this summer.

But Husayn brushed away compliments and said anybody could do what he has done.

"This is my third year for qualifying for the World Optimist Dinghy Championship as a member of the Bermuda team.

"I hope to improve on my previous placement in the races. I want to promote the fact that Bermuda has a sailing community that can compete with the best of the world's sailors,'' he said.
