Saltus Grammar School's deputy head Boy Johnathan Andrew describes himself as a calm, friendly person who ``only gets vexed when I play sports''.
The 17-year-old Pembroke student has always attended Saltus and enjoys playing football, basketball, volleyball and softball in his spare time. His favourite sport is basketball, he enjoys watching "Mad About You'' on television but he does not have a favourite musical group or musician.
"I'll listen to anything except opera,'' he says. Andrew says that he does not know what career he wants to pursue but adds "I'm keeping my options open''.
"Guidance wise'' Andrew says that his mother is his role model because "she guides me more than anyone else''.
He adds that his mother also influences him the most on a day-to-day basis but: "The way Jesus did things is the best way and I try to follow what he did so I guess I would have to say he has most influenced my life.'' Andrew, whose favourite subject is Spanish, believes the fact that "everybody wants to do their own thing'' is one of the major problems facing society today.
"People should take a look back in history and see what has worked and what hasn't'' he explains, "instead of just rushing out and doing their own thing.
The small island mentality'' of Bermudians is the one thing Andrew wishes he could change about the Island. "Bermudians need to be more open minded about other cultures, what our world is like and what's going on in the world,'' he suggests.
Andrew's Uncle Christopher is the one person he wishes he could meet because "my uncle died when he was young and I've never met him''. Andrew says that he would advise other young people to enjoy school because it is not "that bad''. "It's not as bad as you think. I'd stay in school for the rest of my life if I could!''
