Meet our Junior Reporter, Jillian Rinehimer
The basics:
Jillian Rinehimer; 16 years of age; year 11; Head Girl, Bermuda High School for Girls
My family is …
Very close. We have always been able to take family trips together and have an amazing time. I have one older brother and he is an excellent role-model for me. My parents are encouraging and supportive in whatever I do.
My favourite in-school activity
I really enjoy studying the sciences, as I find them interesting and relative to my future plans.
My favourite after-school activity
National debate, as it helps prepare me for public speaking and introduces me to different views on worldwide issues.
My favourite music
I love listening to just about anything, I'm pretty eclectic.
My favourite place to shop …
is Boston because although New York City has completely brilliant shops, it's way too hectic. Boston is much more relaxed and has just about all the stores New York does.
The thing that irritates me the most …
is when people think they're right, but they're really wrong.
I'd like to …
become involved in a career of science or journalism, after studying abroad at college. My ultimate career would be travelling around the world, helping children have a better future, and writing about the different cultures I experienced along the way.
Message to my peers
Be true to yourself and never give up, because if you give up you may regret it, and no one should ever live with regrets.
