Prospect’s ‘amazing’ journey around the world

Student reporters: Prospect Primary P4 Place students recently produced their own newspaper, two articles from which are reproduced in today’s Young Observer.

International Night took place in the Assembly Hall at Prospect Primary on Friday February 25.It involved students, parents and teachers celebrating six countries from around the world.In the evening each class and the school choir sang a song or performed a dance from a country they had studied in class during the term.The 13 students of P4 Place studied India, helped by one of their classmates, Jusea Jeyedhas, who is from the south of the country.Other countries studied were Mexico, Brazil, Haiti, the United Kingdom and Bermuda. On arrival students bought a card with the flags of the countries on it and went to different tables to answer questions about each country.Posters on the countries decorated the room.Once all questions were answered correctly, students were able to enjoy food from the different countries. Afterwards, each class performed.Adults were charged admission, and the $10 for each question card went to raise funds for the school.‘Fun’, ‘amazing’, ‘fabulous’ were some of the words P4 students used to describe this traditional event.
