Somerset Primary thrashed Heron Bay 8-0 in a match held recently on Somerset’s home turf.Somerset Primary were well ahead by the end of the first half, with three goals (scored by N’Zyah Edwards, Shaheim Wainwright and Micah Richardson) to Heron Bay’s nil.“Tweet!” The second half began. Heron Bay only had the ball for about 10 seconds, and then Somerset Primary stole the ball and glided through Heron Bay’s entire midfield and defence. It just looked too easy. “BAM! SWISH!” It was Somerset Primary’s fourth goal. Unbelievable!The ball went back to the centre. Heron Bay tried to pass the ball through Somerset Primary, but it was intercepted by Mica Richardson. It went to defence, then mid-defence. Mid-defender Jalun Hassell kicked the ball just over the centre of the field. Somerset Primary pushed up, while Heron Bay fell back to defend their goal. From midfield, the ball went to Matisse Bascome, left defender. Matisse went one on one with the goalkeeper. “Bang! Swish!” The ball got “planted” in the top right corner of the goal.It was Somerset Primary’s fifth goal! While the spectators cheered on the team, Matisse celebrated by running back to his side, and doing a front flip along the way!The ball was back into play. Again, Somerset Primary somehow managed to get the ball, and was storming a straight path towards the goal. Shaheim Wainwright got the ball, and ripped through a couple of Heron Bay players. Then it went back to Matisse. Matisse got past the defence, and dribbled into the six yard box to face the goalkeeper.“BAM! SWISH!” It was Somerset Primary’s sixth goal! The game went on with Matisse missing a shot while being marked. Zane Curtis-Thomas and N’Zyah Edwards each scored a goal, bringing the score to eight-nil.
