Going for D of E bronze
Sixty-three Year 10 Saltus students completed the practice expedition for their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze the weekend of November 8th and 9th.
Saltus Head of Geography, Mr. Peter Martin, coordinates the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze level programme at Saltus and remarked: “This is a significant achievement for both Saltus Grammar School and the International Duke of Edinburgh Award as this is 93% participation rate for the year group which is the highest in Bermuda.
“It was an eye opening experience for some students and a lesson in cooking for others, and they learned the importance of packing a little less for the expedition in March. Well done to all the students!”
Teachers Ms Sarah Gray, Ms Sarah Strass and Mr Patrick Mahon provided support that weekend. Saltus students going for their Silver level Duke of Edinburgh, coordinated by Secondary DT teacher Mr Mahon, head out on their practice expedition this weekend.
