Trio return to Clearwater Middle to present awards
In mid March Clearwater Middle School hosted their Quarter Two Honours and Citizenship Awards Ceremony.
Three former students returned to the school to present at the Ceremony. Stephane Nkeuleu, Chanara Smith Rookes and Esmeralda Zanders.
These students were celebrated on their achievements; one of them being they were the first students to have achieved grades of A* through C on IGCSE Mathematics while in M3.
The message from the students was one of dedication and determination, commitment and perseverance.
Levyette Robinson, Principal at Clearwater Middle School shared the profiles on each of these students:
Stephane Nkeuleu
Stephane is kind, respectful, polite and a role model for his peers. Last year he was focused in classes and achieved good grades.
This was evidenced by his consistency on honour roll last year.
Stephane understands the value of a good education and strives to improve himself at all times. He would always ask questions to clarify his thinking and was not afraid of peer pressure.
Stephane served as the Head Boy last year at Clearwater Middle School.
He carried out his duties in an exemplary way. He was invited back to his alma Mater, Elliott Primary School, to speak at one of their Honour Roll assemblies as he attended this school when in primary education.
As a role model, Stephane was respectful to his teachers and carried himself appropriately around school, wearing his uniform with pride.
At the Leaving Ceremony in June 2013, Stephane received many awards: academic excellence in Social Studies, top student in Science, Cynthia Lottimore Deportment Cup, Carlos Symonds Carpe Diem Award and the Ambassador’s Cup.
Stephane represented the school in several sports, including basketball and athletics. Last year he ran for Flyers Track Club as a long distance runner.
Last June Clearwater Middle School was pleased to present Stephane Nkeuleu as our male nominee for the Dame Jennifer Smith Young Leader Award.
Stephane is currently an S1 student at The Berkeley Institute.
There he has maintained his place on the Honour Roll for the past two quarters. Last May he too sat the IGCSE in Mathematics and achieved a grade C.
Esmeralda Zanders
This morning I am pleased to introduce to some and present to others, Miss Esmeralda Zanders, member of the graduating class of 2017.
Last June Esmeralda completed her studies at Clearwater Middle School in a wonderful position.
She achieved solid grades on the Cambridge checkpoint examination and had sat her IGCSE in Mathematics, achieving a grade B.
Esmeralda finished strong having received numerous awards during the school Leaving ceremony.
Esmeralda was a reserved student, yet always focused during classes. She was respectful of her teachers and peers.
She values education and is intrinsically motivated to do her best at all times.
This motivation led her to take a summer course for early S1 credit during July 2013, before entering CedarBridge Academy.
Esmeralda is now taking S3 Mathematics because of her achievement in the IGCSE.
She served as a Prefect last year and was an outstanding role model.
She is a very pleasant, well-mannered young woman.
Her attitude accurately reflects her positive outlook on life, as well as her personal values and morals.
Esmeralda is continuing her quest for the highest grades at CedarBridge Academy.
Chanara Smith-Rookes
Clearwater Middle School’s was Head Girl at Clearwater Middle School for 2012- 2013 Miss Chanara Smith-Rookes. Chanara is an excellent role model and leads by example.
She outwardly displayed good behaviour throughout the school, and upheld her values and morals to the highest degree.
She was intrinsically motivated, set herself high standards and worked assiduously to achieve her goals.
She used initiative and always followed through with all that she did.
Chanara’s drive to be successful and meet her goals will help her accomplish all she puts her mind to.
She does not give up easily with sports or academics and will stick it out until she succeeds.
Chanara exhibited marvellous sportsmanship on and off the court.
As a prefect, she encouraged others to uphold Clearwater’s standards and as a House Captain she played an important role in motivating and organising sports participants.
Chanara was the female nominee for Clearwater Middle School Dame Jennifer Smith Young Leader Award last year.
She was also nominated for this award at her Primary school. Chanara is currently an S1 student at The Berkeley Institute.
There she has maintained her place on the Honour Roll for the past two quarters. Last May she sat the IGCSE in Mathematics and achieved a grade C, becoming one of the first students from Clearwater to achieve this certificate two years earlier than usual.
