In March, some of the classes at Gilbert Institute had a presentation on dementia by the Action on Alzheimer’s & Dementia organisation.
Mr Tim, from England, played interactive brain games with us. They were interesting and fun.
We also learned that dementia is very sad because people can lose their memory. They can forget how to talk, write and get dressed. They can also forget who they are.
You can help people with dementia by spending time with them and just talking to them. At the end of the presentation we wrote ways that we can help people with dementia on a hand cut-out.
The presentation helped us to be thoughtful of others who have dementia.
