Students share their hopes
Student leaders at Francis Patton Primary School are preparing to visit two Lighthouse Schools in New Jersey. The students shared their hopes for the trip with us.
Kyzori Smith (Head Leader)
Age: 10
“I am preparing for the trip by brainstorming ideas that might benefit our school. We are also preparing by practicing our presentation skills. I take action when needed to help others, this is Habit Six ‘synergise’.”
Brianna Benevides (Deputy Head Leader)
Age: 10
“I would like to get more information on the seven habits from the trip. I would also like to see how both schools showcase the seven habits around their school. The Student Lighthouse Team brainstorms in every meeting; we also created our own mission statement.
“We also went to Heron Bay Primary and shared with their students the meaning of the seven habits. I am ambitious, intelligent and I am proud to be a student at Francis Patton Primary.”
Malaysia Roberts (Head Leader) Age: 10
“I live to be strong, responsible, reliable; honest and to apply the seven habits to help me become a better leader.
“Habit number three ‘put first things first’, helps me get organised. My hope for the trip is to bring back new ideas on how to use the seven habits at Francis Patton Primary that will make us an even better leadership school.
“I would also like to see how their Head Leaders fill their roles and share how we function in our roles. I also hope to hear how they use the Seven Habits language.”
Chazz Knight (Deputy Head Leader)
Age: 10
“I am intelligent, helpful, honest and independent. I love music as it calms me down and it helps to change my mood. I hope to bring back ideas from the trip to help my peers.”
