Strong showing at Canadian tournament for Saltus
Saltus recently had three teams travel to the CAIS Soccer National Tournaments (Senior Boys, Senior Girls and U13 Boys) in Canada.
The senior girls tournament was hosted by Country Day School in King City, Ontario. Saltus finished with a record of one win, two draws and two loses.
Darren Lewis, director of athletics told us: “The team improved with each game and gained some valuable experience from the tournament.”
The Saltus U13 team participated in the Canadian Association of Independent Schools U13 boys’ National Football Championships in Ontario, Canada.
This year’s event was hosted by the Holy Trinity School in Richmond Hills, a suburb outside of Toronto.
Saltus Grammar School Under-13 boys’ team lost to St George’s School in the final of the Canadian Association of Independent Schools Championships in Ontario.
Richard Todd, the Saltus coach, said: “Saltus can be proud of their accomplishment in their first year competing in the tournament.”
The senior boys tournament was hosted by Rothesay Netherwood School in New Brunswick.
The boys made it the silver division final as they compiled a 3-3 record throughout the tournament.
At the end of tournament prize presentation the boys were given their runners-up medals and they seemed to be happy enough to finish tenth overall out of 20 teams.
